Hello from New York! I came up to the city yesterday to spend a couple days here for a friend’s graduation and I had to make a stop at one of my favorite bakeries. I don’t know if you’ve noticed but I am a sweets freak. My sweet tooth will most definitely be the end of me. I’m very particular about my sweets though, and I like to refer to myself as a chocolate chip cookie connoisseur…which brings me to… Continue reading
When it comes to breakfast, New York City is the city of bagels. New York prides itself on the bagel – the perfect, filling breakfast for on-the-go New Yorkers. I personally stopped eating bagels once I read that calorie wise, one bagel is equal to five slices of bread (yikes!), but every once in a while I need to indulge. I recently had that urge during a quick trip to NYC so I made the journey to midtown to a classic little bagel place I’d heard about… Continue reading
I drove up to New York last weekend to complete stage three of my move and the weekend turned into a bit of a love letter weekend in the city. I didn’t intend to spend a magical weekend in the city filled with new and old favorite experiences, but that’s exactly what happened.
Y’all. I use the word “y’all” so you know I’m serious. Winter Blues has befallen New York City and my little heart can’t take it! Of course this happens every year and eventually I’ll get over it, but for some reason it’s hitting me really hard this year. For those of you that don’t know, Winter Blues refers to a state of depression caused by the lack of vitamin D the body receives from the sun due to the shorter days of winter. Yes, it’s a real disorder! For those of you that don’t believe me, see here.
Hey! I hope you had a great weekend! I spent this weekend mainly in my apartment since it’s rare that I get to enjoy some time at home these days. Lately it even feels like it’s rare that I spend time in NYC on the weekends. I’ve been fortunate to spend the last two weekends at home after tons of travel this summer. That said, I’m now gearing up for another stretch of travel to Boston this Friday, a quick 24 hours at home, and then to Utah on Monday for just about a week, taking me away from the city for two weekends in a row. When I’m not in New York, sometimes I miss it, most times I don’t, but now that we are in my favorite season of the year, I’ll probably miss the city more than usual. In preparation for my upcoming NYC deficiency, I decided to put together a post of random snaps around the city that I took over the past few months when I was feeling inspired. Luckily, living in a city like New York there is never a shortage of inspiration. Let me know which is your favorite photo! Also, have you been to NYC before? What’s your favorite spot to photograph? Looking forward to your responses! xx
